I would like to make a sincere apology.
when Alice in Chains released their self-titled album, I was far from kind to it. many years later, I listened to it again and realize now that the problem wasn't with the band or the album but with me. what I wanted was another Jar of Flies, and so I didn't even give it a chance. it's still not one of my favorite Alice in Chains albums, but neither is it their worst. after releasing two landmark albums back-to-back (Dirt and Jar of Flies), it would have been all but impossible to make a followup that made me happy, and I shouldn't have been so cruel.
